Weston & Sampson Services is currently looking for a Chief Water Operator for the Chatham MA project with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
This individual will be responsible for overall management of the Chatham water system that involves following sampling programs and standard operating procedures for operating and maintaining water systems in accordance with Massachusetts regulations. Preparing monthly reports for the water systems along with DEP/client interface is required.
This position oversees the entire water project, including managing a staff of 5 and ensuring annual contract deliverables are met, including, but not limited to, backflow device testing, meter reading, inspections, DigSafe, hydrant and valve maintenance, subcontracted repair coordination, flushing, fire-flow testing, shut-offs, customer complaints, leak detection, surveys, meter installation and removal, treatment operation, sampling, etc.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A MA D3 and T2 drinking water license is required.
Must be able to climb ladders and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. This individual must have good written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with computers in a Windows-based environment. Knowledge of MA DEP regulations and of Operation and Maintenance planning is desirable. Must have valid driver’s license. Prior utilization of an asset/work order management system is a plus.
